Chief scientist, elected in the “CAS Pioneer Hundred Talents Program” (the introduction of foreign outstanding talents) in 2010 Professor Chen is currently serving as deputy director of the Key Laboratory of the Soil Environment and Pollution Remediation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, researcher and doctoral tutor. He is a doctor major in Sedimentary Geochemistry of the Department of Geology, deputy director researcher of the Soil Environment and Pollution Remediation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and doctoral tutor. Moreover, he had served as senior environment adviser of London Olympic Games 2012 (2005-2009); and consultant director of the Britain Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM).
Registered architect, registered environmental engineer, and deputy general manager of Germany Züblin in Greater China Region, has ever presided over the Yellow River Xiaolangdi multi-purpose dam project and other major projects at home and abroad, and has accumulated abundant experience and high attainments in soil remediation program feasibility analysis and design, project construction management and related fields.
Graduated from the Civil Engineering Department of the Southeast University as a bachelor and the Material Science and Engineering Department of the Iowa State University as a master. With education background in America’s top material engineering subject, he is a highly educated inter-disciplinary talent.
Undergraduate major in hydrology and water resources engineering at China University of Mining and Technology, majoring in hydrology and water resources at Nanjing University. Senior expert in soil groundwater remediation, specializing in site groundwater pollution survey, risk assessment, remediation planning and on-site construction, with many years of experience in soil remediation and water treatment, and participated in the successful completion of many site pollution projects in Jiangsu and other provinces.
